144-Hour Visa-Free Transit will be Implemented in Xiamen, Wuhan, Qingdao, Chengdu and Kunming

From January 1, 2019 on, five cities including Xiamen, Qingdao, Wuhan, Chengdu and Kunming will be added to the list of 144-hour visa-free transit. The qualified tourists from 53 countries can transit in any of these cities for at most 144 hours without a China visa. It’s a further optimized the current policy of 72-hour visa-free transit. Comparing with before, the stay time will be extended and more transit ports will be available.

More and more China cities begin to implement the 144-hour free-visa transit and 72-hour free-visa transit. This undoubtedly offers great convenience for business men and tourists who want to have a short visit to China. Now, check if you are eligible for the policy.

Who can enjoy the 144-hour visa-free transit?

The tourists from 53 countries who comes from country/region A to China, and leaves for country/region C. Application documents include the passport valid for at least three months, visa (if applicable) and onward ticket to the third country or region.

24 Schengen Agreement Countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland

15 Other European Countries: Russia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia (FYROM), Albania, Belarus, Monaco

6 American Countries: the United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile

2 Oceania Countries: Australia, New Zealand

6 Asian Countries: Korea, Japan, Singapore, Brunei, United Arab Emirates, Qatar

Available Transit Ports:

Two seaports in Xiamen and Qingdao will be added and all the eligible ports are as follow: Xiamen airport, Xiamen seaport, Qingdao airport, Qingdao seaport, Wuhan airport, Chengdu airport and Kunming airport.
